Thailand: Provincial Solar Power Project

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed the following loan assistance and a cofinancing from Clean Technology Fund (CTF):
Description:
The Provincial Solar Power Project will help Bangchak Solar Energy Co Ltd. install and operate a 50 megawatt(DC) (gross) solar power plant. Power generated will be sold to the Provincial Electricity Authority in Chaiyaphum and Ayutthaya provinces. The project will be the first time ADB will mobilize the CTF cofinancing for a private sector project. The project will help Thailand achieve its target of 25% of primary commercial energy coming from alternative energy by 2021.
Amount: THB780 million loan (or $25.2 million) from ADB’s ordinary capital resources and up to $15 million from the ADB-administered CTF.
