Uzbekistan – Namangan Power Transmission Project Loan

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following project:
Description:
The project will fund the construction of a new 500 kV overhead transmission line and substation and the upgrade of other transmission facilities to provide ample, reliable supplies of electricity to Fergana Valley. The region is the most densely populated in the country but currently suffers power capacity problems which are undermining economic and social development.
Amount: $132 million loan from ADB’s Asian Development Fund and an $18 million loan from ADB’s ordinary capital resources.
