2nd IWA Development Congress and Exhibition
Background
Urbanization, population growth and competition for water resources provide a challenging environment for water professionals in low and middle income countries.
Questioning current conditions, working collaboratively, and developing innovative solutions are keys to successful delivery of water and sanitation services and water cycle management in these regions. At the same time, tackling these challenges also provides professionals with significant opportunities to innovate, strengthen service provision, and create new businesses.
With the overarching theme "Pioneering Water Solutions in Urbanizing Areas", the Congress focuses on issues ranging from appropriate technology solutions to broader enabling mechanisms such as governance, finance systems, capacity development, and stakeholder mobilization.
Objectives
- Foster in-depth debates on innovative solutions at the frontier of water and sanitation management and urban development
- Enable new partnerships across geographical boundaries and areas of expertise
- Provide access to the latest best practice experiences and scientific findings
- Catalyze new insights and foresight through the exchange of ideas and sharing lessons learned
Organizers
The International Water Association and Malaysian Water Association are organizing the congress with support from partner companies and agencies. ADB is providing assistance through WaterLinks, a strategic partner of the Congress.
