5th Pacific Water and Wastes Association Conference
Background
The Pacific Water and Wastes Association (PWWA) is a network water and wastewater experts and organizations whose mission is to deliver quality water-related services that enhance the well-being of people throughout the Pacific region. The membership comprises Pacific Island water and wastewater utilities as well as international water authorities, private sector equipment and services supply companies, contractors and consultants. Since 2008, the PPWA has been holding its annual conference that greatly contributes to the continuous increase in PWWA’s membership and strengthening of the network. For this year’s conference, the theme is "Sanitation and Wastewater—A Pacific Solution?"
Through its Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOPs) Program, ADB has been collaborating with the PWWA to promote and support twinning partnerships and other capacity building initiatives for water operators in the Pacific region. ADB, with support from its Water Financing Partnership Facility (WFPF), will actively participate in this 5th PWWA Conference and organizing a session on Twinning Partnerships to promote the WOPs Program.
Objectives
- Introduce ADB's twinning approach through lessons learned from completed and ongoing twinning partnerships
- Conduct a matchmaking event to facilitate discussions between potential mentor and recipient utilities
Organizers
This conference is being organized by the PWWA with ADB support.
Participants
Member professionals and organizations of the PWWA along with representatives from ADB and partner organizations will participate.
