ADB Celebrates Gender Month
Purpose / Background
To commemorate the celebration of International Women's Day, ADB will hold a series of gender-related activities beginning on 27 February and throughout the month of March. The theme of this year's annual International Women's Day Breakfast Event is "What Lies Beneath – The Untold Stories of Gender Equality".
Objectives
The month-long activities will:
- Promote gender equality and women's empowerment in the work culture and environment
- Provide an understanding of ADB's institutional commitment to gender mainstreaming
- Demonstrate the benefits of gender mainstreaming to greater operational effectiveness and key ADB Gender Policy
