ADB-OECD Joint Workshop on Gender and 3Es (Education, Employment, and Entrepreneurship) in India, Indonesia, and PRC
Despite numerous improvements in women’s educational and employment outcomes across the world, achieving gender equality in the economy remains a big challenge. The Gender Initiative* of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) aims to address gender inequalities in education, employment and entrepreneurship (the “three Es”) by:
- developing more detailed knowledge on why barriers to gender equality in the “three Es” persist,
- establishing standard indicators to measure forward progress, and
- through exchange of good practice develop recommendations for policy makers to reduce barriers to gender equality.
To learn more about these issues in India and Indonesia, and PRC, OECD has partnered with the ADB to hold a joint workshop, bringing together policy makers and researchers to identify key barriers to gender equality in education, employment, and entrepreneurship in the three countries and discuss policy options.
