Asia and Pacific Conference on Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP)
Purpose
This conference aims to provide a forum to share ideas, experiences, discuss common issues on developing and implementing e-GP, an important component of e-Governance, and explore opportunities of collaboration among ADB's developing member countries and ADB on promoting and implementing e-GP in the region.
Objectives
At the end of the conference, participants will have:
- the knowledge of undertaking a more strategic management approach to public procurement --- one in which management is guided by information and analysis rather than procedures alone;
- the capability of introducing innovative measures using ICT for streamlining public procurement for greater efficiency and economy;
- the tools to help improve governance, increase transparency, and reduce corruption in public procurement particularly when it is integrated with other areas of government functions such as budget, tax, and audit.
Expected outputs
- an MDB strategy and action plan for promoting e-GP in Asia and the Pacific;
- a handbook on how to develop and implement e-GP.
Target participants
Participation is by invitation only

- senior government officials in charge of public procurement from ADB's DMCs;
- development partners including multilateral and bilateral development institutions;
- civil society organizations;
- relevant private sector.
