Asia-Pacific Water Forum: Water Knowledge Hubs Learning Week
Background
KnowledgeHubs is a network of regional water knowledge hubs under the Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) committed to improving water security in the Asia-Pacific region by promoting knowledge sharing among, and developing capacity of, water institutions and championing feasible solutions for priority water issues. Launched in 2008, the APWF's KnowledgeHubs was established through a cooperation agreement among the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, Singapore's Public Utilities Board, and ADB. To date, there are 17 confirmed water knowledge hubs.
Water knowledge hubs are expected to collaborate in a number of water knowledge domains. With the theme "Strengthening Capacities for Knowledge Networking in the Water Sector," this event, organized by the APWF KnowledgeHubs Secretariat, ADB, and UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, aims to strengthen the capacity of hubs to manage their networks and deliver results to connect project clients to better solutions. Consulting ADB operations staff on client needs is part of the program.
Objectives
The seminar-workshop aims to:
- Construct a shared and thorough understanding of the gains and benefits of knowledge networking
- Discuss the guidelines and essentials of running knowledge networks
- Demonstrate tools to improve knowledge networking
- Build the knowledge networking capacities of the regional water knowledge hubs
- Update the work plans of the regional water knowledge hubs to integrate knowledge networking tools
Organizers
The event is being organized by the APWF KnowledgeHubs Secretariat, with ADB support.
