Banking Regulation and Financial Stability in Asian Emerging Markets-Beijing
The purpose of this event is to present policy-oriented research and provide an effective forum in which to have discussions that would allow for comparison of experiences of different countries in terms of (i) the effects of the crisis on their economies and financial systems; and (ii) results of their policy interventions and lessons that can be learned from successes and mistakes. Specific areas to be examined include: evolution of the regulatory structure and implications for Asian emerging markets; improving regulatory and supervisory structures in Asian emerging markets; improving banking system efficiency and stability in Asian emerging markets; and macro-prudential approaches to banking regulation.
