Description

The forum aims at exchange of experience and cooperation toward enhanced accountability of international financial institutions (IFIs) and builds greater awareness among civil society and project beneficiaries on recourse available to them. It also presents an opportunity for an open dialogue with stakeholders to address and highlight the significance of promoting accountability, listen, and effectively respond to the problems of project affected people.

Objectives

  • Share civil society organizations' (CSOs) and Independent Accountability Mechanisms' (IAMs) best practice and experiences and lessons in working with each other for everyone to adopt
  • Identify specific way to strengthen partnership
  • Identify reforms for IAMs to mitigate or rectify meaningful and timely solutions
  • Explore cases where complainants and affected communities have obtained remedy through IAM complaint processes
  • Share CSOs experiences and recommendations on the scope of IAMs work
