Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Senior Officials' Meeting
Background
A gathering of Senior Officials from 8 CAREC countries: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, the People's Republic of China, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to review progress on the implementation of CAREC sector strategies and work plans, and the CAREC Institute work plan.
Objectives
The Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) will seek agreement on
- the 9th Ministerial Conference objectives;
- the indicators, indicator definitions, and final structure of the CAREC Results Framework; and
- activities to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the CAREC Program institutional arrangements in 2011.
The SOM will also discuss updates and work plans for the priority sectors of transport, trade facilitation, energy, and trade policy.
