Development of National REDD+ Strategies in Asia & the Pacific: Progress and Challenges (ADB Side Event, Tianjin Climate Change Talks)

Purpose

This event provided an update on national REDD+ strategy development in key countries, and facilitated dialogue among stakeholders on key issues facing countries getting ready for emerging REDD+ mechanisms. The REDD+ approach aimed to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, combined with enhancement of forest carbon stocks, sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and community development.
