Distinguished Speaker Seminar: Nicolas Veron - The Eurozone Crisis: Causes and Prospects
For the past few years the headlines in Europe have been dominated by the financial and economic crisis, first in the banking system, and then in sovereign debt markets. During this period the urgencies of the moment tended to divert attention from the bigger picture, which is political. None of the political questions raised by events in Europe since 2007 are new. But the crisis has shed new light on them, and may allow Europeans to consider the matter with greater lucidity. The goal of this seminar is to stimulate thinking on issues that may become increasingly prominent in the next few months.
