Eminent Speakers’ Forum: A Conversation with Washington Sycip on Development Options: Perspectives on Poverty and Education
Background
Washington Sycip, Ramon Magsaysay awardee and founder of the Asian Institute of Management and the Philippine accounting and management consulting firm SGV (with operations throughout East Asia), will share his perspectives on development and education during the Eminent Speakers’ Forum.
Objectives
To enable ADB staff and invited representatives from the Philippine Government, development community, private sector, academia and civil society to hear the development perspectives of a business and education pioneer and leader in the Philippines and the region.
Expected outputs
- Through introductory remarks and an interactive exchange between Mr. Sycip and the audience, information and knowledge on poverty reduction approaches, economic and social development in the Philippines and the region, and the role of education as an equalizer.
- Podcast interview with Mr. Sycip (to be posted on the ADB website).
Target participants
ADB Senior Management and staff, as well as invited representatives from the Philippine Government, development community, private sector, academia and civil society.
