Dennis YasutomoEminent Speakers’ Forum presents Professor Dennis Yasutomo sharing his insights to ADB management and staff about the founding years of ADB including the early history and creation of ADB.

Dennis T. Yasutomo is Professor of Government and East Asian Studies at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Dr. Yasutomo has written extensively on Japan’s official development assistance policy, including a trilogy on both multilateral and bilateral aid that includes studies of Japan and the Asian Development Bank and The New Multilateralism in Japan’s Foreign Policy. His research experience in Japan includes affiliations at the Ministry of Finance and the Institute of Developing Economies as a Fulbright Scholar. Dr. Yasutomo’s current project explores the new civil-military dimension of Japan’s foreign policy in Afghanistan and Iraq, with a volume scheduled for publication in 2014.

Objectives

The forum with Professor Yasutomo will facilitate exchange of ideas among ADB staff and provide an opportunity to expand understanding on the history of the Asian Development Bank.
