Eminent Speakers’ Forum: The Role of Social Protection in Advancing Inclusive Growth
Background
Santiago Levy, Vice President for Sectors and Knowledge at the Inter-American Development Bank, will share insights on the use of social assistance measures such as conditional cash transfers in Latin America and the Caribbean; and their potential replication in Asia and the Pacific.
Objectives
To enable ADB staff and invited representatives from the Philippine Government, development community, private sector, academia and civil society to hear the development perspectives of the main architect of the renowned anti-poverty program Progresa-Oportunidades, implemented in Mexico.
Expected outputs
Knowledge concerning the design, implementation, and results of conditional cash transfer programs as a means to tackle poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean.
