Purpose

The meeting will take stock of the progress of preparations for the 16th GMS Ministerial Conference to be held in Hanoi, Viet Nam on 25-26 March 2010.

Objectives

• finalize certain elements of the 16th GMS Ministerial Conference (MC), e.g. theme, program/agenda, timetable, venue and other arrangements
• review the progress on the proposed deliverables for the 16th MC
• consider a first draft of the proposed Joint Ministerial Statement

Expected outputs

• Agreed format for the 16th MC, especially the Ministerial Retreat
• Agreed timetable of activities/preparations checklist for the MC
• Revised Joint Ministerial Statement
