Inception Workshop on Rebalancing and Sustaining Growth in the People's Republic of China
Post-workshop statement
The inception workshop was very successful, as its goals were fully accomplished. It represents a good start for an important study. It was agreed that the topics that have been identified and presented at the workshop are in line with the agreed framework of the study, that is, how PRC can sustain its growth in the next two decades and avoid the "middle-income trap". Draft research papers are expected to be available in November 2010, which will all be structured to answer these broad questions.
