Regional Conference on Community-Driven Development

Purpose / Background

The Conference aims to (a) discuss and distill the lessons learned for informing the design and implementation of Community-Driven Development (CDD) programs, including CDD scale-up; and (ii) launch the CDD learning network.

 

Objectives

At the end of the workshop, participants will have:

  1. understood better the benefits and importance of applying CDD approach to local service delivery;
  2. learned lessons from CDD studies conducted in Indonesia, Philippines, People's Republic of China (PRC), and Republic of Korea;
  3. understood the elements, principles, issues, and lessons learned from global experiences in scaling up CDD;
  4. identified opportunities and options for scaling up CDD in their respective countries; and
  5. participated in the CDD learning network.

  1. Representatives of relevant government agencies from 15 DMCs
  2. Representatives of development partners
  3. Representatives from academe and research institutes
  4. Experts/ researchers on CDD studies in Philippines, Indonesia, PRC, and Republic of Korea
  5. ADB staff from HQ and RM
