Regional Workshop on Reassessing Trafficking Prevention
Purpose
A regional technical assistance project on Human Trafficking and Safe Migration Concerns for Women and Children into Regional Cooperation (RETA 6448) was approved on 17 March 2008. The regional TA aimed to enhance mainstreaming of human trafficking and safe migration concerns within the GMS and the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) and further enhance regional policy dialogue and partnership on these concerns.
The workshop is the second of two workshops that is organized by ADB to mark the completion of the regional TA. During the workshop, participants will discuss the concept of human trafficking prevention and analyze the range and impact that such interventions have to date.
The expected outcomes include:
- Fundable ideas for prototype prevention activities
- A publication highlighting discussions on the role of different prevention approaches
- Tangible ideas for follow-up towards a widely accepted framework for trafficking prevention
Target Participants
Participation is by invitation only.
The workshop primarily targets practitioners with global responsibility for such initiatives.
