Stakeholders' Workshop on the Proposed South Asia Pension Forum
Purpose
The workshop is intended as an objective platform for key stakeholders in the Region to discuss their views regarding the proposed South Asia Pension Forum (SAPF) as well as the rationale, scope and structure of the SAPF based on their own research, capacity building and informational needs in the areas of pension policy design, reform, and implementation.
Objectives
At the end of the workshop, participants will have:
- Discussed their views regarding the proposed South Asia Pension Forum;
- Discussed the rationale, scope, and structure of the SAPF based on their own research, capacity building and informational needs in the areas of pension policy design, reform, and implementation;
- Shared policy goals and experiences with achieving broad-based pension coverage as well as their perceived value from pension policy cooperation;
- Discussed their commitment on contributing actively to the establishment and operation of the SAPF;
- Discussed next steps in establishing the SAPF.
Expected outputs
The TA report will incorporate the participants' comments after this conference.
Target participants
Senior level officials in charge of pension reforms in their respective countries in the region.
