Subregional Workshop on Gender, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Empowerment in South Asia
Purpose
The lateral learning workshop aimed to provide a unique opportunity for senior government and private sector officials associated with implementing ADB-financed loan and grant projects in South Asian countries to learn about new tools, innovative approaches and positive outcomes related to addressing gender issues in loan and grant projects.
Objectives
- Showcase emerging good practices in gender and socially inclusive private sector and financial sector development projects;
- Learn from gender-inclusive ADB projects currently enhancing women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment; and
- Build the gender and development capacity of project staff implementing ADB-financed projects.
Target Participants
Senior government and private sector officials associated with implementing ADB-financed loan and grant projects on financial sector/SME, agribusiness, skills, private sector, and rural infrastructure development in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
