National and city-level government officials from ADB members will be introduced to and trained in the use of the Wastewater Management Expert Systems (WaMEx), an application that aims to help decision-makers and planners in designing options to address different wastewater management scenarios. Developed by ADB and UNESCO-IHE, WaMEx can be used by wastewater experts to start a plan from scratch, upgrade existing facilities, and prepare budgets for the plans.
ADB supports the WaMEx training through its regional initiative on "Promoting Innovations in Wastewater Management in Asia and the Pacific" that aims to increase awareness and action to improve the existing urban sanitation conditions. The initiative is funded by the Water Financing Partnership Facility, ADB's pool of financial and knowledge resources from various donors that finances water and sanitation developments in the region.
To introduce the WaMEx Tool to decision-makers and technical people who are involved in developing wastewater management plans and strategies to help build capacities in addressing wastewater management issues
The training is organized by ADB's project on Promoting Innovations in Wastewater Management in Asia and the Pacific.
National and city government officials from ADB members, preferably those who have technical expertise and are directly involved in planning and developing wastewater management strategies are invited.
