Workshop on Economic Analysis for Transport Projects
Background
The Transport Community of Practice (TCOP) and Regional and Sustainable Development Department (RSDD), in close coordination with the Economics and Research Department (ERD), are working towards refining ADB's project economic analysis guidelines to better support sustainable transport goals. This is in line with Strategy 2020's vision as well as the Sustainable Transport Initiative which seeks to develop transport systems that are accessible, safe, affordable, and environment-friendly. The work will help to develop a more integrated and comprehensive economic evaluation framework for ADB's Transport projects. The outputs will include a more comprehensive economic evaluation tool.
Objectives
The workshop aims to:
- present the findings of the study on review of ADB’s economic evaluation practices for public transport projects, and
- make recommendations to improve the current methodology to enable more holistic analysis for ADB transport projects.
Target Participants
- TCOP Economic Analysis Advisory Team Members
- ADB Transport Professionals and Transport Economists
