World Water Congress and Exhibition - Asia Pacific Regional Forum
Background
The IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition is a high-profile international event attracting thousands of water professionals and organizations from across the globe. Organized by the International Water Association (IWA) and in previous years has been held in Vienna, Beijing, Marrakech, Melbourne, Berlin and Paris.
In 2010, the Association is partnering with the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) and the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ) to hold the event in Montreal. The strategic intentions for the congress are to engage with the dynamics of the water sector and its interfaces, including urbanization, climate change and energy.
This year, the congress will feature the Asia-Pacific Regional Forum which will cover Energy Efficiency in the Water Sector, Urban Sanitation, and Water reuse.
Objectives
The IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition is a valuable and unique opportunity for the community of world-leading water professionals to meet, exchange ideas, explore the state of the art and debate the key issues underlying the science and practice of water. It is also where the entire water community congregates once every two years and where IWA specialist groups showcase their work and plan for future activities.
Organizers
The forum is jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank and International Water Association.
Participants
IWA is expecting 3,000 delegates and 1,500 trade visitors to attend the Montreal event. Many will be drawn from the IWA membership comprising 10,000 individual and 400 corporate members from 130 different countries.
