Georgia's First Country Depository Library Opened at Tbilisi State University

TBILISI, GEORGIA –The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International School of Economics (ISET) today launched ADB's first Depository Library in Georgia, placed within the ISET library.

The library will help disseminated a wide range of studies, statistical reports, working papers, books, briefs and awareness-raising materials published each year by ADB.

"Knowledge creation and knowledge sharing are integral to ADB's work in Georgia and the south Caucasus,” said Kathie Julian, ADB Resident Representative in Georgia. “ADB partners with established libraries across the region which have agreed to house ADB's publications and to promote their use among a diverse group of stakeholders."

With this opening, Georgia has joined ADB's Depository Library Network, now comprising 21 member countries.

Established in 2006, the International School of Economics (ISET) at Tbilisi State University (TSU) is sponsored by a consortium of prominent international donors, including BP, the CERGE-EI Foundation, the Government of Georgia, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Open Society Foundation, Swedish International Cooperation Agency, US Agency for International Development, and the World Bank. It is the only institution in the South Caucasus offering an international caliber Master’s Program in Economics.
