Pacific Countries Continue to be Protected Against Global Effects
Fiscal positions in small Pacific island economies improved in 2012, largely due to improved budget performance in the face of a weakening global economic environment, while the fiscal positions of Papua New Guinea (PNG), Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu all deteriorated in 2012, according to the ADB's latest Pacific Economic Monitor.
