A Path to Better Lives
The social and economic well-being of Bhutan is dependent on an effective and sustainable road network because of the mountainous terrain and the absence of railways and domestic airline routes. However, the national road network was in need of improvement as the deteriorated surface made journeys long and difficult. With the Asian Development Bank’s support, roads have been rehabilitated and are now creating a vital impact on the people of Bhutan.
