Statement by ADB Chair of Board of Governors on President's Resignation
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Finance Minister of India, Palaniappan Chidambaram, has issued the following statement in response to President Haruhiko Kuroda’s submission of his resignation, effective March 18:
“Mr. Kuroda has done an exemplary job of leading the Asian Development Bank for more than eight years,” said Mr. Chidambaram. “His extraordinary vision and leadership has enabled ADB to significantly advance its mission of poverty reduction and sustainable economic development in Asia and the Pacific. We are grateful to him for his service and wish him well.”
