ADB Provides $800 Million for Rural Roads Program to Link Remote Indian Villages
The $800 million financing means increasing Asian Development Bank investment to nearly $2 billion in a government program that has built more than 100,000 kilometers of rural roads and connected 40,000 communities in 5 states in India, including Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal. Asian Development Bank's Juan Miranda, Director General, South Asia Department, explains how the roads are improving lives.
