Meeting the Challenge of Increased Access to Clean Water in Lao People's Democratic Republic
An ADB-financed water supply and sanitation project in Lao PDR's Houn District in Oudomaxy province is making a big impact in people's lives. The project brings piped water supply to more than 2,200 households and has improved sanitation facilities in nearly 1,900 homes. The poor and vulnerable are also benefiting from clean water supply and improved sanitation. Oudomxay provincial water utility is one of the few companies in Lao PDR to adopt a corporate approach in their operations to ensure reliable and quality water supply services.
