VO: Over 1 million young Indians enter the workforce every month looking for secure, productive jobs but employers have often found that even university graduates do not have the necessary practical vocational skills and technical expertise. To address that, the government’s National Skill Development Corporation supported by the Asian Development Bank is working with private schools and institutes to provide training for 15 million people a year that’s a goal of 50 million people by 2022.

The NSDC was created to enable the private sector to play a leadership role in skill development efforts in the country not by supplanting the government system but by supplementing and strengthening the whole ecosystem of skill delivery in the country.
