The directory of development organizations* is a resource guide to development organizations in the Internet. The directory aims to promote interaction and active partnerships among governments, private sector and key civil society, including NGOs, trade unions, faith-based organizations, indigenous people’s movements, foundations and research centers. USAID/Azerbaijan* and the USAID Center for Democracy and Governance* produced the report, Azerbaijan Civil Society Sector Assessment* [ PDF ]. The study evaluates the state of development of the Azerbaijan civil society and to provide recommendations for the future of USAID civil society assistance.

The Civil Society Project* is the USAID’s 5-year initiative in Azerbaijan, launched in 2005 and implemented by Counterpart International* in partnership with Urban Institute* and International Center for Not-for-Profit Law*. The goal of this program is to assist citizens and government of Azerbaijan to develop a dialogue while working towards creation of a more representative and better functioning democracy.
