Pacific Liaison and Coordination Office (PLCO) is ADB's representative office in Sydney, Australia, and also acts as a focal point for New Zealand. PLCO is involved in programming, processing and administration of assistance in Nauru, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. PLCO is also committed to promoting private sector development across all 14 of ADB's Pacific developing member countries via the Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative co-financed by AusAID.

PLCO hosts joint activities and holds consultations with academic and research institutions, and civil society. PLCO also coordinates and hosts high level visits from ADB Headquarters to Australia, New Zealand, and countries of responsibility.

PLCO also facilitates country reporting and updating, aid coordination, external relations and information dissemination. It allows ADB to be more responsive to the development needs of the Pacific and further strengthens its relations with governments, the private sector, and nongovernment organizations (NGOs) in the region.

The Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative (PSDI) was established by ADB in 2006 with co-financing by AusAID to support efforts by the PDMCs to encourage private sector-led, sustainable economic growth. PSDI focuses on the following key reform areas: state-owned enterprise (SOE) reform and public-private partnerships (PPPs), financial sector reform to promote access to financial services, and reform of the legal and business regulatory environments in the region.

PLCO's role, along with offices in Fiji Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Timor Leste, and field presences in Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu is to:

• organize and align ADB operations with the evolving needs of the Pacific Islands
• strengthen ADB's delivery of high-quality, basic social services in the region

PLCO also hosts Pacific Infrastructure Advisory Center (PIAC), which coordinates donor assistance to develop and maintain critical economic infrastructure in the Pacific.
