Lee
Dr. HyeKyung Lee is
a Professor of the Department of Social Welfare, Yonsei University in Korea and
is the President of the Korean Social Security Association. Currently, he is the
Director of the Center for Social Welfare Research and the Kayang-4 Community
Welfare Center, both under the Yonsei University; and Vice Chair of the Expert
Committee for National Pension Fund Management. Dr. Lee has written numerous papers
and articles focusing on social security and welfare, including: Social Security
in South Korea: Programs and Policy Issues, presented at the seminar Social Security
Systems in Asian Countries: A Comparison of Problems and Perspectives (China);
The State of Social Welfare in Korea; A Study on the State Protection Policy for
the Elderly in Korea, included in Proceedings: The 9th Asian-Pacific Cultural
Scholars' Convention; and Accessibility Issues in Social Security Policy for the
Korea Institute for Social Information and Research. He has a Ph.D. degree from
the School of Social Welfare, University of California, Berkeley.
