Randeep Sudan

Mr. Sudan is Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh, India. He assists the Chief Minister in matters relating to use of information technology as a strategic tool for development, and is responsible for planning and monitoring a large number of e-government initiatives in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He has also been a member of the Indian Administrative Service, and served in senior positions in areas of rural development, public sector management and general administration in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Sudan's professional interests include: Information Technology Policy, Development of Information Systems, Social Policy and Planning, Disaster Management, and Public Administration. Mr. Sudan earned his M.Sc. in Social Policy and Planning at the London School of Economics, UK. He received his Postgraduate Diploma in International Trade from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi and his Masters in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, as well as his Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has written many publications, including: "Towards Smart Government: The Andhra Pradesh Experience," Indian Journal of Public Administration, Special Number on Information Technology and Development, 2000; "A New Paradigm of Development," The Economic Times, 1999; "Leapfrogging into the Future," Indian Express (Hyderabad), 1998.
