The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following technical assistance project:

Description

This technical assistance will help landless and poor families living alongside riverbanks in flood and erosion-prone districts of Assam province to develop and improve livelihood skills in areas such as spinning, weaving and vegetable growing. It will also offer vocational training for poor urban youth in skills for the trade and service industries, as well as assistance for marketing and producer organizations. The TA aims to increase the incomes of beneficiary households by an average of 50%.

Amount 

$2.5 million grant from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction, administered by ADB.
