The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a project loan for Yunnan Sustainable Road Maintenance (Sector) Project.
The project will rehabilitate 890 kilometers of trunk roads, many of which are connected with or form part of the northern and north-south transport corridors of the Greater Mekong Subregion. It will also test a performance-based road maintenance scheme for 164 kilometers of roads, introduce a computerized road asset management system, and improve the capacity of the local highway agency. It will help implement a policy and institutional reform roadmap which aims to make road maintenance more sustainable in Yunnan province.
$80 million from ADB's ordinary capital resources.
