The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following cofinancing assistance:

The Domestic Maritime Support (Sector) Project will provide frequent, reliable and safe interisland shipping services by rehabilitating or reconstructing 12 wharves and jetties, and establishing a franchise shipping scheme to remote areas that are not commercially viable. This additional cofinancing will close a financing gap and finance the reconstruction and rehabilitation of five wharves at Tatamba, Isabel Province; Ringgi and Ngasini in Western Province; and Waisisi and Uhu in Malaita Province.

A$4 million grant from the Government of Australia and $2.5 million equivalent grant from the Government of New Zealand, both to be administered by ADB.
