The Asian Development Bank has approved the following project:

Funds will be used to build and upgrade irrigation facilities within the Northern Chu and Southern Ma Rivers Irrigation System in Thanh Hoa province. The project, which is part of a wider government investment program, will benefit about 120,000 farm families and irrigate about 23,900 hectares. The long term aim of the project is to increase water productivity, reduce rural energy demand and improve food security.

Amount:

$110 million equivalent loan from the Asian Development Fund.
