The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following loan:

Description

This $10 million loan, alongside a $48.9 million loan from the ADB-administered Clean Technology Fund, will help improve accessibility of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) 2 line in from Ben Thanh to Tham Luong stations in Ho Chi Minh City. Works will include pedestrian subways and footbridges, bus stops and feeder links, dedicated taxi stands, park-and-ride facilities for two-wheeled vehicles, and waiting areas for other public transport providers. The funds will also help develop a real-time information system for bus and train arrivals. Finally, the project will help develop pricing policies to promote the shift from private to public transit; a station parking policy; and measures to manage public space for vendors and keep stations accessible.

Amount 

$10 million from the Asian Development Fund, as well as a $48.9 million loan from the ADB-administered Clean Technology Fund.
