Cyn-Young Park, Assistant Chief Economist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and author of Myanmar in Transition: Opportunities and Challenges released on 20 August, will share her thoughts on the report. This is the first in-depth analysis of the country’s growth potential since it began reforms, and includes fresh data and new policy prescriptions. She will be online to discuss the way forward for one of Asia’s poorest, but potentially prosperous nations.

Cyn-Young Park has authored and contributed to many of ADB’s major publications including the Asian Development Outlook (ADB’s flagship publication), Asia Capital Markets Monitor, Asia Economic Monitor, and Asia Bond Monitor.
She has participated in various global and regional forums including the G20 Development Working Group, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the ASEAN+3, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and the Asia-Europe Meeting. She has written about and lectured extensively on the Asian economy and its financial markets.
Prior to joining ADB, Ms. Park served as an economist at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, where she contributed to the OECD Economic Outlook.
