Purpose / Background

The presentation will help to guide local industry representatives in the design and execution of developing and financing the Philippines' e-Trike initiative.

Objectives

At the end of the workshop, participants will have:

• full introduction to the range of current and available possibilities in the world of electric vehicles
• first-hand knowledge of the growing e-Trike manufacturing industry
• enough knowledge on the process of building opportunities for local industry to develop a new industrial sector of electric vehicle in automotive business

Resource Speakers

Dr. Alastair Bacon is the Vice President for Driveline and Transmission Systems for Ricardo. Dr. Alastair's career includes extensive periods working for major automotive engineering consultancy companies, including Lotus Engineering, Prodrive and Ricardo. During his career, Dr. Alastair has led a range of powertrain, technology and vehicle development programs managing multi-disciplinary, multi-regional teams. He has lived and worked in UK, Europe, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and has spent more than five years based in the People's Republic of China. He has extensive experience launching high and niche volume production programs for both global and local OEM  suppliers in all these regions. Dr. Alastair is currently based at the Ricardo Technical Centre in Shanghai, China.
