Description

The objectives of the TA are to: (i) assist the Government to implement the Cross-Border Agreement (CBA) for regulating and easing the movement of people, goods and vehicles across the border in Georgievka, and to formulate longer-term strategies for expanded use of the CBA at other border crossings to foster regional economic cooperation; and (ii) to improve coordination and management of road safety, including the incorporation, in cooperation with the construction supervision consultants, of adequate environmental and social mitigation and safety measures in the maintenance by contract.

Consulting Services
A total of about 20 person-months of international consultants and 12 person-months of domestic consultants will be required. The same consulting firm will be selected and engaged by the Bank for this TA and the TA for Improvement of Road Sector Efficiency in Kazakhstan in accordance with the Bank's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants.
