Description

The TA will be designed to assess the potential for rural development and infrastructure investment in CHT. The Project components includes: (i) upgrading basic rural infrastructure such as priority market facilities, rural roads and trails, including bridges and culverts, and small-scale water retention structures to improve crop cultivation, and improve drinking and irrigation water supplies by enhancing land-use and watershed management; (ii) raising income generation through improvements in such areas as agricultural output, fishing, livestock and poultry production, handicrafts, weaving, food processing and packing, through the provision of microcredit and savings opportunities, targeted at the poor including tribal groups and women; and (iii) strengthening the executing and implementing institutions capacity and fostering beneficiary participation in Project design, execution, implementation, and operation and maintenance of facilities.
