Description

The goal of the SME Sector Development is that SMEs improve their contribution to economic growth, employment, and povery reduction. The objective is to improve SME's (i) competitiveness and facilitate their participation in the formal economy, (ii) access to business support services, and (iv) access to improved public and private sector support institutions through capacity building. This will be achieved through a mix of policy reforms, institutional development measures, and knowledge services, partial credit guarantee, and non-lending services to SMEs.

Procurement
The program loan will follow ADB standard procedures for procurement and disbursement. Proceeds of the loan will be utilized to finance the full foreign exchange costs, excluding local duties and taxes, of eligible imports produced in and procured from ADB's member countries. All procurement under the program loan will be in accordance with ADB's Guidelines for Procurement and undertaken through normal commercial practices for the private sector or the Government's prescribed procurement procedures acceptable to ADB, with due consideration to economy and efficiency.
