Asian Development Bank and Cook Islands: Fact Sheet

ADB has been supporting the Cook Islands since 1976, having approved over $97 million in loans, grants, and technical assistance.

ADB operations in 2016–2018 will support the government’s commitment to increase the proportion of energy generated from renewable sources. Following the introduction of the O3b satellite service, ADB and the government will monitor the growth in demand for internet services, and explore the development of fiber-optic submarine cables for faster, reliable, and more affordable internet access. ADB will also help strengthen the government’s public service strategy and private sector development.

Updated yearly, this ADB Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on the Cook Islands as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information.
