Asian Development Bank and Malaysia: Fact Sheet

Updated yearly, this ADB Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on Malaysia as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information.

Malaysia is a founding member of ADB. After 15 years without country-level engagement, a Malaysia interim country partnership strategy (CPS) was adopted in November 2011. The interim CPS sets forth ADB’s reengagement with Malaysia and supports the implementation of the Tenth Malaysia Plan. The interim CPS supports Malaysia’s efforts on the national anchoring of regional cooperation and integration, catalyzing private investments by developing bankable public–private partnerships and highlighting knowledge partnerships. A second country operations and business plan, 2013–2014 was approved to implement the CPS.
