ADB has been very active in providing microfinance assistance to developing member countries in Asia and the Pacific region.
From 1988 to 30 June 2014, ADB’s total approved microfinance projects has amounted to $2.6 billion, consisting of $2.03 billion public sector loans, $43.7 million technical assistance (TAs), nearly $3.0 million regional technical assistance (RETAs), $27.1 million grant projects and $540 million non-sovereign projects.

Meanwhile, across countries in Asia and the Pacific, the Philippines has received the most number of ADB microfinance projects totalling to 16. Meanwhile, based on total amount disbursed through different microfinance projects, India ranked 1st.
