The fund is a single-donor trust fund established in 1999 to finance technical assistance in ADB’s developing member countries (DMCs).
Priority is placed on projects in private and public infrastructure, development of small and medium-sized enterprises, transfer of environmental technologies, health and education and urban development and water supply sectors.
Activities such as project preparation, advisory services and project implementation will be financed from the fund.

The Italian government supports the fund.
